The picture
above shows up a common mistake made by on site installers.
The handrail
was sanded at the join and re lacquered with a clear polyurethane product that
the installer had lying around in the back of his truck.
A few years
later and the lacquer applied by the joiner has changed colour differently to
that which we applied.
If you ever
think you might need to touch up timber on site, feel free to ask us to supply
a touch up kit for you. They are supplied free of charge to most of our
clients.
Whilst the
timber repair looked the same colour when first applied, differing lacquers
react differently over time. This can result in an obvious discoloration.
We spend a
great deal of time selecting the correct lacquer to meet the ongoing needs of
both our commercial clients and the final users. It is important to use the
same lacquer on any repairs undertaken
